Investor in People

The Company was accredited with IiP in 1999, and has since gone through three more reviews, we are proud to say we continue to demonstrate ongoing compliance with the IiP Standard.

Feedback from the Specialist IIP Practitioner after the August 2008 review: ‘Russell Construction has undergone considerable progress and development since the last review in 2005. The company has built a very open and honest culture with the ‘concern for people’ at the heart of its approach. Its ‘concern for people’ has been matched with a strong ‘concern for task’ evidenced by the introduction of control measures such as tight project management and project progress reviews. People in the company have witnessed considerable company development, commenting favourably about the company changes that they had experienced and about their positive experience in the Russell team.’

Health and Safety

Russell Construction takes Health and Safety very seriously, our record to date has been exemplary, as was highlighted at the Building Awards where we were awarded 'Regional Contractor of the Year 2002'.

All staff receive regular Health and Safety Training which is organised in conjunction with our Health and Safety Advisors and CITB.

Further Education

A number of our Site Managers are continuing their education at college studying for the CIOB Site Management Certificate and Diploma.

Other training and personal development

A key objective within our business plan relates to employee satisfaction. Every year we survey our employees at our annual 'Company Development Day'. We use this survey year on year to measure employee satisfaction.

As a result of carrying out the survey we have now developed a Company Training Plan.
